In many parts of Ondo State, clean water remains a luxury. Every day, women and children walk miles to fetch contaminated water, risking their health and losing precious hours that could be spent at school or work.

Recognizing that access to clean water is the foundation of public health and dignity, the Aduro Foundation launched its Solar-Powered Borehole Initiative in 2019, beginning with the Igbobi Community. This pioneering project combined renewable energy with sustainable water access, setting a model for communities across the state.

NAVAL BASE SOLAR POWERED- BOREHOLE

Located within the Nigerian Naval Base in Igbokoda, this solar-powered water system is one of The Aduro Foundation’s most significant achievements. It serves both naval personnel and the surrounding civilian population, becoming a lifeline for thousands.

Before the project, water access in the base and nearby communities was unreliable, forcing many to depend on unsafe sources. Our high-capacity solar installation changed that, delivering a steady flow of clean water every day without relying on unstable electricity or costly fuel.

By meeting the needs of both the military and civilians, the project has strengthened community ties, improved health outcomes, and set a benchmark for sustainable water solutions in strategic locations.
